Solar panels

Providing sustainable help – that is a central goal of our work at We Help Children in Afghanistan (NGO). In addition to directly supporting the children in Kabul, we also want to permanently reduce the orphanage's ongoing operating costs and at the same time make a contribution to environmental protection.

A major concern for the coming months is therefore the expansion of renewable energy sources on the OMAID orphanage grounds: We plan to install solar panels on the suitable roofs of the buildings.

The Electricity and heating costs have risen significantly in recent years and represent a considerable burden on the orphanage's budget. By installing modern photovoltaic modules, a large portion of the required electricity will be generated in-house in the future – clean, climate-friendly, and cost-saving in the long term.

The positive effect would be doubly noticeable:
On the one hand, the ongoing electricity costs would be significantly reduced, which would relieve the orphanage's financial burden. On the other hand, the saved funds could be sensibly invested in other areas such as education, medical care, or nutrition—where they directly benefit the children.

Furthermore, with this project we are setting an important example for ecological awareness and future-oriented thinking—values that should also be conveyed to the children in the orphanage.

We depend on your support to make this project a reality. Every donation brings us closer to our goal of making the OMAID orphanage not only safer but also more sustainable.

Together, we can ensure that the sun not only shines in Kabul, but also provides energy for the children's future.
